Yes... and the exact same statement is said esoterically about existence itself... seemingly endless repetition of thought in form etc....endless expressions of 'Love' (not 'love')... i.e. creation = Love... with the meaning of all life simply being to 'know thyself'...
Yeah, I was hoping for more, but I always am... usually all that is found is tiny little crumbs (on purpose or by the design function).... and so the pattern of expression continues on and on and on... tropes, cliches, etc, is what connects them all.... the archetypes of thought/creation being expressed.
The ending was so full of all those Japanese cliches focusing on the group dynamic... one after the other.... like they were trying to get them all in as they reached some silent crescendo...
But the last little scene finally ended it with them returning to form.... of course, this enemy 'out there' really didn't make sense from an esoteric pov... which should've been mentioned by one of the characters... if they are in a state of bliss, why are they forcing all other species to join them? That would be the negative polarity in action, not so blissful for everyone else... <_< ... so that was stupid... but it still ended nice... they wrapped it all up rather well given the material.... even putting our MC into a mental haze was done well, and rather accurate.
I think so many of these stories seem repetitive because our situation as humans here hasn't changed yet.... and the 'rise and fall' of civilizations.. i.e. The Wheel of Life is the same... repeating over and over, ever so slowing does consciousness 'wake up'.... as thought starts in energy and ends in pure thought... completing the circle of existence.... which is pretty much the background of all stories... it's sort of like esoterica in that you have to find the common points in cultures, their 'holy books'... excise the BS, which in some, like our western bible, is pretty much 2/3's of it, and then the congruencies align... truth is found.... different cultures express different aspects of the same picture... it's extremely rare to come across real 'higher' data.... most is just this level or the next and most of it is BS... like all of our 'isms.... capitalism, socialism in all its forms from Marxism to communism and fascism... nationalism and patriotism is always there for the archetypes of 'royalty' to play with... for better or for worse.... given our status of being in 'Purgatory', it is usually for worse... but that is about to start changing within the next decade.. .as the cycle comes full circle.
With all that in mind, I watch these always hoping for more... but aren't we all? no matter our preference in trope or type? I thought it started off very teeny cliche, full of tropey stuff, and that flower sex analogy got old... but it is accurate, so..
... but the horned girl was the only real interesting thing in all those early eps.... I think this was the writer's first project? Experienced crew... but.... I forget and don't care enough to check it out... but overall it was pretty good... after those early eps were out of the way.... they could've been edited down considerably.... more foreshadowing should've been inserted... and IF the writer or idea person knew more, it could've been in here... but that is so extremely rare.... and when it is, it's usually done in a negative manner... like propaganda... to get the masses to accept what is given to them, like these kids... that simply didn't know better... and that memory erase was used nicely to explain that aspect of why the kids didn't ask questions... explained later... I just think those early eps were weak... as I've said many times.... there was much more here that could've been inserted... but the same can be said of almost all projects, all stories... which is why everyone criticizes them afterword... some of this is cultural... as civilizations rise and fall... the expression of their zeitgeist... little steps every time.... always reaching for greater self awareness... the meaning of life... to know thyself... the creator is the creation... blah, blah, blah... Remember how those 'baby steps' was used in the film 'Contact'? same principle...
Now to find the next one... ^_^ ... and criticize the hell out of it afterwards!.. of course.
